Just came back from CompUSA and I’m totally in love with the new Apple Powerbooks. Though I’ve always been a Mac admirer, the high price of owning one always meant that I had to stick with the PC. After using OS X for but a few minutes, I realised how shortchanged we PC users are.
The fonts on the Mac are razor-sharp. Even my homepages looked like they were all done up on Photoshop. I’m going to take the leap out of Bill’s pocket the moment I get my feet set under me.

Have you tried ClearType on an XP machine with an LCD display? Looks as nice as Quartz on OS X.
how was the new 12" powerbook?? i am seriously thinking of getting it... when the moolah rolls in. ahem.
Thanks for the take Anil. I'm still running an old machine with 98, hence the looking around for an upgrade. Certainly would appreciate any techie insight you may have.
A L, the 12" was SWEET, as far as I could see. I'm half stuck on whether to get something really portable or a larger screen for my photo-tweaking. But OS X makes Windows look so outdated.
When you get one, in OS X, go to Home > Library > Fonts and you can put all your Windows True Type Fonts in there and they work. If you have lots, you might want a font manager. Whether or not you spring for the 12in or larger Powerbook, remember, they get rather warm. even my iBook gets rather warm. If I didn't already have this one, I'd go for the 12 in Powerbook. OS X is rather nice, stable and I love it .
macs have always had better graphics and are MUCH superior for editing video and watching movies. Personally, they are a little too unsupported for me.
