Writing Resumed
Mum took a look at my resumé and commented that it didn’t provide personal details like whether I was Chinese or had finished my National Service, or how old I was. In the U.S. we were told not to include such details in the resumé so that companies wouldn’t have to risk discrimination lawsuits. They simply rejected all resumés with personal information that incriminate them as being discriminatory.
Oh, Mum also said resumés can go beyond a single page to a maximum of two pages. All this time I’ve been trying so hard to it down - using a smaller font, changing the margins. With all the extra space I now have, I might even include my favourite colour.

in singapore, most jobs i've applied for have requested for a photograph to be included on the resume. can you imagine that being a requirement in the us?! i don't see the relevance of putting down that you are chinese. what difference does it make? plus, with a surname like teo, you're hardly likely to be malay, indian or caucasian. :o)
resumes can be up to 2 pages long, just make sure that it's easily readable, so that the would-be-employer doesn't give up reading half way through. but i'm sure you've already thought of that.
And Conqueror Paper!!! Must forget the heavy, fancy paper to let them know that they're *koff* worth the effort!!!
Erm... I always thought a good cover letter and a solid one-page resume was the key. ;)
Anyway, that's what I've done the last time I went job hunting.
Yes, using good paper would be prudent.
Font is important too!
