Remember what I said about my new pets being my training ground for parenting? And where I said the fish were the first step and the hamster being the next step, progressively getting harder?
I take that back. Fish are very enigmatic.
We used to have eleven neon tetras, along with other fish in the tank. Yesterday we saw one swimming weird. Today he seemed miraculously healed. Or rather, there wasn’t any weird-swimming fish to be found in our tank. A quick demonstration of basic arithmetic concluded that we now had seven neon tetras. There were no remains and no floating fish, but we had somehow managed to lose four of them.
In the other tank that held two redeye (no scientific names at the local petstore), only one was left. Again, absolutely no sign of the other having ever existed.
We are baffled. Much as I would like this to be my foray into being an illustionist, the last thing I need is a missing baby.
The hunt for red eye (and neon tetras) continue.
Seems like fish like sashimi too, eh?
check under or behind the tank. we had fishies who liked to explore. maybe they believed in the afterlife. or maybe they enjoyed being ikan bilis.
ur comment thingie on the main page doesn’t list how many anymore. and quite obviously if u don’t see them, something ate them up right.
Yup there are only two possibilities. 1. They jumped out of the water and are now dry specimens on your living room floor. 2. The fish died and the others ate them up.
Fishies are quite the cannibals.
Errr by the way, there are all kinds medicenes for fishies. Doesn’t always work but it helps sometimes. The challenge is in determining what the problem is.
Oh, you may want to isolate the sick one in another tank so that the rest don’t catch it.
Happy hunting. :D
Fish rearing like the way it used to be.I think the days of “long-kao” fish are over.Fishes are really no longer as hardy.I had an entire set of 10 guppies dying on me overnight, even with all the so-called necessities. So,don’t go blaming your parenting skills.I’m sure you’ll make a great dad!
