sorry but i just gotta say this. you may have pride in your photoshop skills, but i thought as her father, your first priority to her would be to protect her innocence, not violate it. it may just be a picture, but i think it’s disgusting and degrading. i don’t understand how people can actually think a cigarette stuffed into a baby’s mouth can be funny or cute.
Dear ai, if you think I did it to showcase my photoshop skills, you are definitely wrong. It was funny at that time, though I will admit that in retrospect it may not have been the wisest thing to do.
It was not so much the act of smoking (which I personally think is disgusting), but the pose she struck that I wanted to highlight. When we saw her sitting on the sofa the way she did, we laughed and said that she looked like ah pehs who sit with their legs up smoking a cigarette at the coffeshop. A few minutes later I expressed this visually.
I’ve removed the photo from the database, not because I think it was the wrong thing to do, but that it was a grey thing to do, and that you took issue with it.
thanks for taking it out… sorry for the outburst. i know you meant no harm, and it was only done in the name of fun. a friend saw the picture and commented that it was cute, she looked like a lian in the making, which i hardly thought was a compliment. everytime i saw that picture i felt disgust, because she’s beautiful enough as it is, but she looked so defiled with that cigarette in her mouth.
you know how afraid i am of raising a child in a society like this, but looking at anne and at the way you guys are raising her, i had hope, knowing that our children would grow up together with the same values we all hold firm to. so it really surprised me when i saw the picture, especially coming from you. i thought there were other creative ways in which you could have altered that photo.
anyway, thanks to you and faith for always being there for me and for keeping me sane. you know i love you guys and i know you guys would give your lives for anne.
