Setting New Sights

One of my personal new year resolutions was to take more photographs. So these days I leave for work at 6:40am when Faith leaves for school. I plonk myself at some spot in Singapore and shoot for an hour before heading to work. It’s been cathartic.

Do you guys have any other locations you think I should photograph? Preferably between Aljunied and Buona Vista.

Since you appear to have the opportunity to shoot every working day, perhaps you'd like to take up an APAD (a-picture-a-day) challenge?

It's certainly not easy, and I'm sad to say I gave up last year after 130 days, but hey, YMMV. If nothing else, it teaches you to constantly look out for potential shots.

There's even a Flickr group for support:

Have fun shooting!

Whoops. Forgot to leave suggestions.

Labrador Park, Henderson Waves, Hort Park, Esplanade, Marina Barrage, Fort Canning, Little India, Chinatown...? Cliched I know, but Singapore's only *that* big...

arab street, national art museum, national museum, early morning raffles place, supreme court (although u've done that before), haji lane. i have no clue whether these are in between aljunied and buona vista.

marina barrage!

old seletar camp?

queen street, bencoolen area, chinatown, geylang, tiong bahru, redhill, queenstown, tanglin halt ... wherever old time houses and flats and be found.

May I know what sort of camera you were using?

Nicely taken and well-composed.

Thanks Shyue Chou. A Canon 5Dmk2 was used for these.

From your latest effort, I think you do the camera justice.

Rochester with its colonial housing is pretty interesting.
